Please find below America First's "Letter to Erie Co. Pastors." This morning over 100 of these 'Issue 1' letters went in the mail.

Our hope is that you also address Issue 1 with your Pastor, Priest, Council and fellow church members. It would be great to have positive, supportive reminders in many of our community churches ... in bulletin and verbal announcements about Ohio's August 8 election.

Even a simple "Remember-to-Vote" reminder is a good start!

If useful, feel free to use/ adapt/ borrow parts of this letter in ways you see fit.

Issue 1 Letter to Pastors, Priests and Churches

Dear Pastor,

Issue 1 Voting – its on Ohio’s ballet in about 2 1/2 weeks—August 8th.

Its hard to separate truth from fiction. In today’s Ohio searching for truth can feel like living in the land of Oz–amidst a mystifying array of munchkins, monkeys and witches, and some mysterious wizard pulling levers behind the curtain.

Already you see many Issue 1 surveys ... and hear many claims:

• “Some of the key groups advocating for and against Issue 1 fall along party lines. The Ohio Republican Party is urging voters to support the measure, while the Ohio Democratic Party is working against it. Other supporters include conservative-leaning organizations such as the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and Ohio Right to Life.” Haley BeMiller, Cincinnati Enquirer 7/19/23

• ”There is an enormous coalition working to educate voters about Issue 1 − and the more voters learn, the more they hate it,” said Dennis Willard, a spokesman for the One Person One Vote coalition, which opposes Issue 1. “But we also know that special interests and politicians put Issue 1 on an Aug. 8 ballot because they wanted to sneak it past voters, so we remain laser focused on raising awareness ...” Enquirer 7/19/23

• “I’m amazed. Planned Parenthood, the Ohio Democratic Party, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the League Of Women Voters all require at least 60% to change their organizational bylaws, but together shout ‘foul’ when Ohioans want to require 60% to change the Ohio Constitution!” HML

Today’s Nation, family, individual desperately need Christ’s salvation Gospel; it is foundational. Your Christ-ministry of truth, salvation and forgiveness remains as critical now as in the founding of our country. In reality, today we need a black robe regiment (http://alturl.com/yrv4w) which promotes salvation, truth, hope and stability for families–and protects the stability of our Ohio Constitution from well-funded outside-Ohio interests!

• Please go beyond traditional TV/radio news, podcasts and polls about Issue 1.

• Each remaining Sunday before August 8th publicly ask our gracious Lord’s blessing on our Ohio’s election.

• Each remaining Sunday, verbally and in your bulletin encourage your congregation to vote on Tuesday, August 8th.
